Projects

The questions an investment committee will ask, asked first.

MolecularX performs independent due diligence on molecular-energy projects, technologies and companies — testing the technical claims, the cost basis, the market assumption and the commercial structure, and reporting what actually stands up.

The problem

Molecular-energy diligence requires domain depth that generalist diligence teams do not carry. The errors that matter are specific: a stack efficiency quoted at the wrong boundary, a load factor that assumes grid access not yet granted, an offtake letter of intent presented as contracted demand.

What you end up with

An independent, evidence-backed view of what the project or technology is actually worth, and what could go wrong.

What this includes

  • Technical review of the technology, the design basis and the performance claims
  • Independent rebuild or stress-test of the cost and revenue model
  • Market and demand validation, including the quality of any claimed offtake
  • A findings report with severity, evidence and the questions still open

How we approach it

01

Re-derive rather than review

Where it matters, the number is rebuilt independently instead of checked for internal consistency.

02

Test the claims that carry the value

Diligence effort is concentrated where being wrong changes the decision.

03

Grade the offtake

An MOU, a letter of intent and a take-or-pay contract are not the same asset, and the difference is often the whole case.

04

Report plainly

Findings ranked by materiality, with evidence attached and open questions listed rather than smoothed over.

Questions

Who commissions this work?

Investors, infrastructure funds, banks, corporate acquirers, and boards reviewing their own projects. Developers also commission it before going to market, to find the weaknesses first.

Do you provide audit or certification opinions?

No. This is technical and commercial diligence. Formal audit, accredited certification and legal opinions come from the relevant qualified parties, delivered through the Partner Network where needed.

How independent is the review?

Diligence engagements are taken on the basis that the finding is whatever the evidence supports. Any relationship anywhere in the group with a party to the transaction is disclosed before the engagement begins.
