Projects

A technically viable project is not necessarily a commercially viable project.

Most stalled molecular-energy projects are not stalled on engineering. They are stalled because one commercial component is missing — a buyer, a capital partner, an infrastructure commitment, a technology supplier at the right price. MolecularX identifies which component is missing and helps assemble it.

The problem

Project development is where the industry's attrition happens. A project can hold a good study, a willing developer and a real site, and still never reach FID because nobody assembled the counterparties around it. Engineering support does not fix that, and neither does more analysis.

What you end up with

A project with its commercial gaps identified, counterparties in motion against them, and a defensible route to FID.

What this includes

  • A clear diagnosis of which commercial components are missing
  • Identification of candidate counterparties for each gap — buyers, suppliers, partners, capital
  • Commercial structure options and the sequence to pursue them
  • Ongoing support through introductions, qualification and negotiation preparation

How we approach it

01

Map the project against what FID requires

Offtake, technology, EPC, capital, infrastructure, permits. The gaps become the workplan.

02

Attack the binding constraint

Usually offtake or capital. Working the easy gaps while the binding one stays open is how years disappear.

03

Bring specific counterparties

This is the difference from advisory work — the output includes named organisations and introductions, not a category description.

04

Keep the commercial case live

Every component that lands changes the economics. The case is maintained, not filed.

Questions

Do you guarantee that a project reaches FID?

No, and nobody honestly can. Projects fail for reasons outside any adviser's control — policy shifts, capital markets, a buyer's own strategy change. What MolecularX commits to is identifying what is missing and working actively to assemble it.

Is this a success-fee arrangement?

Engagement structures vary by scope and are agreed case by case. Where a commercial outcome is part of the mandate, an incentive component is a normal conversation.

Do you take equity in projects?

That is not the standard model. MolecularX is a facilitator; the default arrangement is an advisory and commercial mandate.
