MolecularX Discovery In development

Discover what comes next.

The hard problems in molecular energy are materials problems. Better catalysts, better membranes, better electrodes and better reaction pathways move the cost curve further than any commercial arrangement can — and AI can search that space far faster than experiment alone.

Honest status

This is the long game, and it has not started paying yet.

Discovery is a stated direction, not a delivered service. MolecularX does not own laboratories, has no validated candidates to announce and claims no intellectual property from it. What exists is a clear view of which problems are worth attacking and why the computational approach is the right one. We would rather publish that than a page implying a research programme already producing results.

The pipeline

  1. Scientific knowledge
  2. Experimental data
  3. Industry data
  4. AI
  5. Computational science
  6. Simulation
  7. Candidate generation
  8. Digital validation
  9. Lab validation
  10. IP
  11. Commercialisation

The first eight steps are computational and can run at a scale and speed experiment cannot. The ninth is where reality intervenes, and it is done by partners with the facilities to do it properly. The last two are the point — science that does not reach commercialisation is a publication, not a business.

Research areas

Catalysts

Activity, selectivity, durability and reduced dependence on scarce metals.

Materials

Structural and functional materials for the conditions molecular-energy systems run at.

Membranes

Separation and ion transport — central to electrolysis and to purification.

Electrodes & electrolytes

The electrochemical interface where most efficiency is won or lost.

Reaction pathways

Routes that lower energy input or avoid an expensive intermediate entirely.

Process conditions

Temperature, pressure and composition windows that improve yield or durability.

Separation

Purification and product recovery, frequently a larger cost than the reaction.

Storage & conversion

Materials and mechanisms for holding and releasing energy in molecular form.

Validation

We compute. Partners run the experiments.

A candidate that exists only in simulation is a hypothesis. Physical validation is done with organisations that already have the equipment, the accreditation and the people — universities, commercial laboratories, national laboratories, engineering firms and technology companies.

That is a deliberate structure rather than a limitation. Building laboratory capability to duplicate what strong institutions already operate would be slow, expensive and worse.

Questions

Do you have laboratories?

No. MolecularX does not own laboratory infrastructure. The computational and AI work is ours; experiments are run by partners who already have the facilities and the accreditation.

Do you have patents or validated candidates?

No, and we will say so until we do. Discovery is in development. Claiming otherwise would be exactly the kind of overstatement that makes a technical audience discount everything else on a website.

Can a research organisation work with you?

Yes — that is the intended model, in both directions. Research groups with relevant capability and industrial organisations with a materials problem are both worth a conversation.

Have a materials problem, or the capability to solve one?

Industrial organisations with a specific technical bottleneck, and research groups with relevant computational or experimental capability, are both the right conversation.
