Commercial

Production without offtake is not a project.

Offtake is the binding constraint on most molecular-energy production projects. MolecularX works on the demand side of that problem: identifying which organisations actually need the molecule, what they will pay, what certification they require, and whether they are in a position to contract.

The problem

There is far more announced production than contracted demand. Producers frequently approach the wrong buyers — organisations with public decarbonisation ambition but no mandate, budget or procurement route for a premium molecule — and conclude the market is not ready when the targeting was wrong.

What you end up with

A qualified pipeline of buyers, a realistic price and contract expectation, and introductions that are actually worth your team's time.

What this includes

  • Demand intelligence: which segments and organisations genuinely need your molecule
  • Buyer qualification — mandate, budget, procurement route, timing, certification requirement
  • An offtake strategy: contract structures, volumes, terms and realistic price expectations
  • Commercial introductions to qualified counterparties

How we approach it

01

Start from existing consumption

Organisations already buying the grey molecule are a different and better prospect than organisations that might adopt a new one.

02

Qualify before introducing

Mandate, budget and procurement route. An enthusiastic contact without a buying mechanism costs a producer months.

03

Match the certification requirement

A buyer bound by a scheme threshold cannot take a product that misses it, whatever the price.

04

Structure the conversation

Volume, term, indexation, delivery point and certification decide whether a price is even comparable.

Questions

Can you guarantee an offtake agreement?

No. Nobody can guarantee that two commercial parties will contract. MolecularX identifies and qualifies counterparties, makes introductions and supports the commercial process — the agreement itself is between the parties.

Do you act for buyers as well as producers?

Yes. Buyers commission supply discovery and market intelligence. Where a conflict could arise on a specific transaction, it is disclosed and managed, or the mandate is declined.

Which molecules?

Hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, e-fuels and synthetic fuels, biomethane and synthetic methane, and CO2 as a feedstock.

Tell us what you provide, what you need and where you operate. The first conversation is about whether we can actually help, which is a faster question than it sounds.
